Logos Quiz level 5-23

Answer: Lacoste

Lacoste

Lacoste is a french clothing company that was founded in 1933. They sell a bunch of random accessories that are very expensive for no reason. Their items include high-end clothing, leather goods, watches, eyewear, footwear, and perfume. They are famous for their hideous collection of the most bland polo shirts in the world. In recent years, they realized that they could make even more money by sewing their crocodile insignia onto towels and sheets and bumping up the price to exorbitant levels. Their crocodile logo came from their founder, whose name was Rene Lacoste. He had the nickname of the crocodile because he was tenacious on the tennis court and because his movements and mouth snapping closely resembled that of a crocodile. That being said, he was never good at playing tennis because neither are crocodiles good at playing tennis. Since Lacoste could not win any games at tennis, he decided to create an upscale clothing and accessory company for people who only want to look while playing tennis instead of actually being great at tennis. Lacoste founded Lacoste in 1933 with a friend named Andre Gillier who was the president of the largest knitwear manufacturer in France. Together they built the tennis shirt and made a lot of money.
