Answer: Esso

Esso

Esso is the internationally known name for ExxonMobil and all of its related companies. Their name was garnered from the Phonetic version of the initials of Standard Oil (SO). Standard Oil stirred some sort of boring controversy and in 1972 was largely replaced by the name Mobil brand as their primary name. Standard Oil was broken up into 34 different companies in 1911. Many of the companies went under the name Esso, while others did something else. These were spread across many different states in America, none of which is important. In World War II, Esso ranked 31st in American corporations with value in production contracts. ExxonMobil is an American multinational oil and gas corporation located in big oil Texas. This company is the direct descendant of John D. Rockefeller’s company. It is also affiliated with Imperial Oil in Canada. This is the world’s fifth largest company with revenue and assets. They have over 37 oil refineries in 21 countries. They are responsible for various major oil spills and show no sign of letting up on their environmental disasters. They even managed to spill in beautiful Yellowstone Montana. ExxonMobil thrives on denying global warming. They do this both out of sheer stupidity and cunning business-like tactics. Of course acknowledging their part in environmental disaster would hurt their chances to continue making more and more money.
