Logos Quiz Level 5-6 Answers
Polo Ralph Lauren
Polo by Ralph Lauren is under the Ralph Lauren Corporation, which is a holding company that has its headquarters in New York City. It was founded in 1967 by an American designer who went by the name of—surprise, surprise—Ralph Lauren. Possibly the most uninteresting man in the designer business, Ralph began by designing ties in 1967. He had always wanted to design menswear and had much background in the field of wearing mens clothes almost his entire life. He started his career off of a 50,000 dollar loan from somewhere or someone. In 1969, he branched out from his genius idea of men’s ties and moved right on over to women’s clothes. He began making suits for women that were tailored with the classic men’s style of suit. Around this time was the when the Polo logo started to get recognition. Ralph launched this women’s collection in Beverley Hills, California. They went international in 1981, opening up to the European market by first emerging in London. Later, in 1993, Ralph expanded even further. He created a Polo Sports line of clothing to much success.
