About ATP

ATP, Association of Tennis Professionals, is the organization associated with professional tennis. The association was founded in 1972 by Donald Dell, Jack Kramer, and Cliff Drysdale. The organization was formed in hopes of protecting male professional tennis players. In 1990, they created a tour aimed for competition in men’s professional tennis. Also in 1990, the name changed from ATP to ATP Tour, changing again in 2009 to ATP World Tour.

The ATP World Tour consists of a few different tournaments, including the ATP World Tour Masters 1000, ATP World Tour 500 Series, ATP World Tour 250 Series, and the ATP Challenger Tour. The association also ranks the different professional tennis players from all around the world.

The Association of Tennis Professionals is headquartered in London, with an American office located in Florida, a European office in Monaco, and an International office based in Australia. Currently, the President and Executive Chairman of the organization is Chris Kermode. He works alongside a Board of Directors and ATP Player Council.
