Kellogg’s is a world famous food manufacturing company stationed out of Michigan,United States. Kellogg’s is known to produce everything from cereal to cookies to pastries. Kellogg’s features factories in over 18 countries while their products themselves are sold in over 180. As of now, they rank second behind Pepsico, as the largest snack food company.
Kellogg’s was founded in 1906 by brothers, Will and John Kellog. In the beginning, the two marketed their brand solely around their Toasted Corn Flakes product. The cereal product became a smash hit as it became a favorable alternative to the breakfast meals of the time. However, the company broadened their scope in 1969 when they began acquiring various other companies. Companies such as Salada Foods, Eggo, and Mrs Smith’s Pies soon fell under the Kellogg’s banner. In 2001, the company grew even larger by attaining the Keebler Company. 2012 saw the company aquire the rights to Pringles from P&G for $2.7 billion.
Kellogg’s was also the first to introduce prizes or toys to the insides of cereal boxes. The first was a moving picture book promotion in which a prize (a book) was awarded to anyone who purchased two Kellogg’s Corn Flakes boxes.
Amongst some of the more famous Kellogg’s products are: Pop-Tarts, Famous Amos, Apple Jacks, Fruit Loops, Rice Krispies, Rasin Bran, and Frosted Flakes.
