Amazon is an American international e-commerce site with retail websites in the US, UK, France, Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, Brazil, Japan, China, India, andMexico.
Founded in 1994 by Jeff Bezos, Amazon began as nothing more than a humble online bookstore. However, through the years, they would go on to increase their store with additions of electronics, clothing, food, jewelry, and toys. In recent years though, Amazon has gone on to expand their company by creating Kindle e-book readers, Kindle Fire Tablets, Fire TV, and the Fire phone. Amazon has also created their own streaming services for music and movies, even creating their own series of shows for the latter.
Amazon’s logo and name stem from Bezos desire to have a company that would begin with the letter A so it would appear early in Alphabetic order. He decided upon the word Amazon because it meant something exotic and diverse, much like he intended the online store to be. The smiling curved arrow from the the A represents that the store carries every product from A to Z.
