About Nirvana: This is a grunge band and not some clothing company. They’re very famous for songs like “Smells Like Teen Spirit” or “Come As You Are”. Another thing contributing to their (ever-lasting) fame is the death of their singer, Kurt Cobain, which is still being discussed because many people still aren’t quite convinced whether he committed suicide or was killed by e.g. his wife.
Overall, the sound of Nirvana can be described as quite dark and depressing, therefore making it non-mainstream music, although it is definitely worth listening to.
