About Fila
Fila is a sportswear manufacturing company. Fila was founded in 1911 in Italy. In 2007, Fila was taken over by Fila Korea and moved its operations to South Korea. Fila was started by a pair of brothers in Biella, Italy. At first, Fila made clothing for people living in the Alps, starting with underwear and moving to sportswear. There are many references to Fila in pop culture today. The TLC song No Scrubs references Fila sneakers. The Sopranos had many people wearing the Fila brand during its run. Beastie Boys referenced Fila many times in their music. Fila was also an icon in 1980s, or old school, hip hop in general.
Fila also is famous for their outerwear lines and their fashion conscious athletic clothing. Fila is not just worn by athletes, but can also be seen in daily life. Fila is the official footwear of Wimbledon and sponsors events like the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.
