Logos Quiz level 4-2

Answer: Jeep
Jeep, formerly owned by American Motors and now owned by Fiat-Chrysler, is almost solely a sports utility vehicle company. Some of the most famous modern models produced for civilians by Jeep include the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Jeep Wrangler, the latter of which remains one of the few Jeeps that is fit for true off-road use. The history of Jeep began with the outbreak of World War II, when the US Army asked over a hundred automobile companies across the US to provide a prototype for mass production of a light reconnaissance vehicle. The Bantam automobile company produced a prototype called the Bantam Reconnaissance Car, and proposed the idea. The Army accepted the prototype and had it built by another car manufacturer, then tested over a thousand Jeeps before sending them overseas for use as engineering vehicles, ambulances, officer transportation, and a variety of other purposes. After the war, the Jeep became an iconic part of the American role in the war, and, similar to the Humvee, took a special place in the mind of the public. Since then, the Jeep company has passed through several hands.
