Logos Quiz Level 4-5 Answers
Answer: North Face
The North Face, as it is known today, began in 1968 in San Francisco’s North Beach in the early days of the “outdoors” trend in America. With a surge of interest in outdoors exploration, including climbing, hiking, backpacking, and camping, the North Face began selling outdoors people equipment and clothing that was meant specifically for them, as opposed to repurposed Army surplus gear. The North Face began manufacturing its own line of clothing and equipment, eventually expanding into skiing and snowboarding. The name of the company refers to the north face of a mountain, which is often the coldest and most difficult part. The half-circle logo is based on the formation called Half Dome in Yosemite National Park, a famous climbing spot and one of the iconic places in the early history of rock-climbing. North Face now produces all kinds of outdoor clothing and equipment, from tents to backpacks to jackets to hats and gloves. North Face coats, in particular, have become widely popular among college students and wealthy clients, and have become a symbol of status and wealth as well as an affinity for the outdoors.
