Bank of America is a multinational banking and financial service corporation based in North Carolina. There are the second largest bank in the United States. They are the 21st largest company in America. They date back to 1904, when an Italian named Amadeo Giannini founded a Bank of Italy in San Francisco. Somewhere down the line Bank of Italy became Bank of America. Bank of America is probably the most complained about Bank in America. There have been countless controversies surrounding them especially in the past century. In 2008, Bank of America began to notify customers in good standing that their interest rates were to be doubled to 28%. No one was given a reason as to why Bank of America decided to do this. They have been known to seize properties not under their ownership because of apparent mixup of addresses in their professionally sorted legal documents. They are notorious for tacking on hidden fees that their customers never learn about until its too late. They were involved with a threat from Wikileaks where Julian Assange claimed he had documents that would turn Bank of America’s corrupt business practices inside out. In preparation for this, Bank of America bought over three hundred internet domain names to prevent bad publicity.
