DC Shoes is an American shoe company that creates shoes and apparel for action sports like skateboarding and snowboarding. They make clothing, shoes, hats, and posters. DC Shoes was founded in 1994 by Dujma. It was originally located in Carlsbad, California, but has since relocated to Huntington Beach, California. DC originally stood for Droors Clothing but Droors Clothing became a defunct business and name but DC lazily stuck. Like what happens with most successful companies with facetious and ultimately useless products, DC also got bought out by a company that was simply a bigger version of themselves. Quiksilver bought them in 2004 for a total of $87 million. That’s when they DC moved location to somewhere else, it doesn’t matter where, no one cares about their history. DC sponsors skateboarders. They have a team of professionals and global amateurs in skateboarding, motorcycling, and various snow sports. Some of the skateboarders on their team include Steve Berra, Evan Smith, Chris Cole, Rob Dyrdek, and other people that will probably retire soon.
