Acer is a Taiwanese multinational electronics and hardware corporation that supposedly specializes in advanced technology. It is located in Xizhi, New Taipei City, Taiwan. They have products ranging from tablets computers, desktop computers and laptops, servers, all sorts of televisions, smartphones and smartphone accessories, and computer displays and everything else you can think of relating to this type of electronic. In 2014, Acer was the fourth largest PC distributor in the world. This shift came after they changed their focus from manufacturing products to designing them, marketing them and distributing them all at once. Acer also is the owner of the largest computer retail chain in Taiwan. This company was a started in 1976 by Stan Shih and his wife Carolyn Yeh. They had the help of other people who don’t matter. It began with only eleven employees and 25,000 US dollars. As is obvious, they soon grew into a multi-billion dollar company. They shifted their focus a few times, they expanded, they faced hard times, they pulled through, and in the end they made a lot of money.
