Pelikan invented the differential piston filling method. The popular lines of pen includes Majesty and Classic lines, which they are known for. The pens come in a fountain pen, rollerball pen, and a ball pen. Pelikan also offers limited edition pens and equipment where there are a limited amount produced. Many of the pens Pelikan offers have silver or gold trimming, making them recognizable and valuable.

Pelikan does not only produce pens, they also produce, pencils, highlighters, erasers, marker pens, graphite pencils, colored pencils, brushes, wax crayons, oil pastels, moulding clay, chalks, drawing inks, printer cartridges, papers, and many more. In 2007, Pelikan had a reported revenue of over $280 million dollars.
